Pangolin Club - Saving Pangolins and Protecting Wildlife
Pangolin Club is a passionate initiative led by young
students from high schools in Hanoi. Our primary mission is to protect
pangolins and combat the grave issue of wildlife hunting. In a world where
wildlife populations are dwindling, and ecosystems are suffering, we believe in
taking proactive steps to make a difference.
The alarming escalation of wildlife hunting is a global
crisis, pushing numerous species towards the brink of extinction each year.
This rampant practice not only threatens biodiversity but also disrupts
delicate ecosystems. Worse yet, the motives behind these hunts often remain
ambiguous and do not contribute positively to society. Despite the formation of
several organizations dedicated to this cause, the problem has persisted, even
worsened, in the past decade. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated the
issue, with opportunistic individuals exploiting the situation for their gain.
Among the species suffering most is the pangolin, the world's most hunted
mammal. Between 2014 and 2018, pangolin poaching increased tenfold, reflecting
the severity of the situation.
In response to this critical situation, driven by my deep
love for animals and unwavering determination, I founded the Pangolin Project.
The club's aim is to disseminate essential information to raise awareness and inspire
collective action to combat this issue effectively.
We believe that education and awareness are the first steps
towards meaningful change. We held multiple educational trips to a
national forest, allowing our members to gain firsthand knowledge about these
remarkable creatures and discover practical ways to protect them and their
habitats. Furthermore, we hosted an online talk show where I shared the
knowledge we gained during our expedition and engaged with a wider audience. With this knowledge, we started to take action.
Pangolin Club is more than just an initiative; it's a
commitment to a better world, where wildlife thrives, and ecosystems remain
balanced. Our dedication to protecting pangolins and addressing broader
wildlife hunting issues is unwavering. With each step we take, each person we
inform, and each action we inspire, we move closer to a future where pangolins
and all species can coexist harmoniously with humans. Join us in our mission to
safeguard these incredible creatures and contribute to the preservation of our
planet's rich biodiversity. Together, we can make a difference.
